Tentative Agreement Reached with University
On August 28, 2009, the EMUFT negotiating team reached a tentative agreement with the university for the extension of our current contract. The main points of the agreement are these: Three-year extension; 1.25%, 2%, 2% annual raises, the first being retro-active to September 1, 2009 (so total raise for EMUFT members this year will be 3.25%); stepped increases in CE overload, Fall-Winter Overload, and Spring-Summer Overload to $1200, but immediate increase to $1100 (currently either $800 or $850); stepped increases to 10.5% contributions to TIAA-CREF; increases in promotion pay raises to $2000; Payroll deduction caps for Option 2 medical plan (which is around a $300 savings over 2009 payroll deductions for family coverage [unfortunately, rates for single person coverage will go up about $140]); Increases to health-plan waiver to $1200/$600 (currently $1000/500); Prescription Drug mail-order and drug card option; FSA debit card option free of charge (currently members pay a $35 administrative fee).
