The EMU-FT board recognizes that it is preferable for deliberative discussions occur in face-to-face meetings of the board members.  However, the EMU-FT Board also recognizes that the busy schedules of Federation of Teachers Lecturers on the EMU campus makes such face-to-face meetings difficult to organize.

The Board therefore resolved that the By-Laws of the EMU-FT Local 9102 be amended as below to allow for the conduct of meetings by e-mail according to the attached email meeting practice.

Article XVI, Email Meetings

Special Meetings may be conducted by email.  Meetings conducted by email are called and conducted in the manner as specified in Article VI, Section 4, with exceptions as specified in the "email meeting practices" document.
